Links From Google Answers

There are a couple links on Google Answers pointed to my website. Over the years I had deleted the pages that Google Answers linked to. I recently decided to add these pages back. While Google doesn't appear to pass PR from it's Google Answers pages. Would these links be of any value for SEO purposes?

Not for PR purposes but having more links point to your website is aways beneficial. You never know, you could get a sale or something from that link.

the actual page with the answer probably doesn't have any Page Rank.... since its just one page with an answer and probably not a lot of people linking to it. You aren't going to get google's PR passed on to you. The good news is that when people do a search with keywords from that question, or a search of that actual question, the google answer page may come up high in results and if it has your link as a solution to the person's problem, then BAM you get instant targeted traffic. that is what counts.

Thanks for all the replies! These link don't appear to bring in a lot of traffic. However one of the links points to a page that had a Amazon reference book featured. So I added the Amazon affiliate page back in hopes of creating a few sales in the future. The other link I redirected to a new location where I added a page with most of the old content along with related affiliate content.

I do try the google answer. However, it was closed now. And, it is pain to get more links pointed to our websites.
Do you kno the easier way to do that?

It's always good to either have the page up or a re-direct in place if you remove it. So I think it is probably good that you put the pages back up.

Every link counts. Never underestimate any link, no mater where it is coming from.

You did wrong by deleting those pages where you received traffic. If you think traffic is still there then immediately create those pages.

I would have to agree about replacing the pages immediately. However one page was to an Amazon affiliate store which is no longer located on my website. The other was deleted due to my website being hacked. In both cases I didn't realize that these links existed.

Presence of the link always well, but here on the account of raising PR - most likely is not present

I disagree with a lot of the views on here. Google Answer is dead. Links are great but let's not get carried away here.

You may get 1 sale from it in the future..When? 6-8 months...2-3 years? Is the headache of having to rebuild the pages worth 1 potential sale that may or may not ever happen?

I would pass if it was my site

While NOT any and all links will give juice, Google Answers does count. The ones that are filtered and are considered a warning have either SPAMMED or have been tagged as some sort of Link selling scheme. SEO has been thrown a curve with this one. I have a link to a pretty important tool on my tool page. The direct link is http://www.bad-neighborhood.com/text-link-tool.htm . This will give you a heads up on links you should consider removing.
