I have an ecommerce site based in the UK on a .co.uk domain. Will links from other .co.uk sites count for more in search engine ranking than .com, .au, .org etc? Or doesn't it matter?
It probably gives a slight benefit over other country tld's dont know about dot com's though I would think not
Right now it doens't matter so much, but Google is changing the algorithms (aren't they always) and I can tell you that one of the biggest factors will be geographic links. SO my best advice to you is YES START getting .co.uk links if you have a.uk site. Same goes for any other geographic region.
Hi, Getting links from .us, .au, .in its not the thing. You need get one way links, if you get the links from .us, .au, .in still google counts it but it should be one way links. Because one way links have more weightage as compared to two way. So try to get one way links. If you want one way links i will do it fot you. Please contact me at - texasddc at gmail dot com
If you have a .co.uk site, you already have an edge over other domains on an English SE, I'm not really sure if the .co.uk backlinks are currently given higher weight yet, but if not the time will some and the small effort you do now will pay off in the future.
I believe you will achieve slightly better rankings in google.co.uk but it shouldn't really matter in .com
i dont think it affects toooo much, but it does show the search engines that you are doing things properly (probably). The best bet is to find .edu and .gov links
