I would like your opinion about link for comments in blog. I made a comment in a blog and i change my name with a good keyword.

exemple : "rent miami car" (-http://mywebsite.com) said "your blog is fery fun, i like it".

My name (rent miami car) link to my website with a good text... you understand...

What do you think about this? Do you think that the quality of this link is better than a link in a directory? I discovered some blog with very good PR... It could be fun to have some links from them ;)

Well, first of all, this is borderline link spam and the blog owner will no be very happy.

Second of all, most blogs have a rel=nofollow tag, so your link is pretty much worthless.

I use the seobook.com firefox extension and it points out weather the links in any part of a site are no follow links. Also I post using my keyword as my name for that link but always put lots of valuable info in the comment to try to make up for it.

The way I look at it is if a blog owner is going to be giving me link value from the comment then I must give them quality comments to add to the value of their blog. Also if someone finds my comment insightful then they are much more likely to click on my link to my comment to visit my site.

    Spot on advice.

Also, my firefox SEO extension broke last week and I realised that is the one extension I CANNOT live without. Thank God the latest version fixed my problem.

I get hundreds of the exact same comments as yours per day and guess where they go?

That isnt a quality link but more or less a waste of time.

Yup... sure is link spam.. and thus there is 'link maturity' so that such links don't get counted as they are usually removed in short order :0)

    Hello everybody

Thanks a lot for all your answers. I discovered DP one week ago and i'm very happy to read all your messages. I'm now agree with you, make some links from blog with name in order to have better link to our websites is stupid.

I suppose that you prefere other linking strategy like submit websites in directorys, create buzz around website, use social network website...

What strategy do you prefere? Wich solutions give better results in short time? I'm sure that a good linking stategy is the key for a good ranking.

Don't post on blogs for the link. Rather, post on them to contribute with information that will help readers of the blog and its publisher. No time to write? Then suggest relevant sites/articles about the topic being blogged about. For example, look at the post above from thegypsy.
