Most of the time it is found that we get no follow links from blog commenting. But search engine does not value no follow links. So still should we bring no follow links from blog commenting.
No-follow links are still good links. Google also see them and take them into account. The difference is that you do not get the PR juice form the site where the link is. The PR of the site is not passed to your site.
Just try to get as many back links from relevant blogs as possible, whether or not they're do/nofollow. Choose your anchor text wisely.
Just get over this damn no follow, do follow link and have some real useful content. I comment on 10 different blogs, 5 have KeywordLuv that allows me to create my own anchor text instead of my nick and I've been ranking higher and higher for a very competitive keyword. Do follow or not, I don't check, most are not. Honestly, blog commenting is for getting visitors mostly - I mean blogs with 500+ visitors daily and plenty of comments. I get around 50 visitors daily from blog commenting on a few weeks old site and commenting takes me like 5 minutes per day. But of course, no "Thank you" or "Very good, check my site", but actual facts. If you have nothing to say, go away. My 2 cents. And it will look weird if you only have do follow backlinks.
I would keep on doing blog commenting without thinking much about dofollow or nofollow. This will make your incoming links more natural. Nofollow links will even give you traffic, branding and are counted as backlinks by some search engines including Yahoo
No-follow links do not pass link juice but still Google counts them. If your website is getting do-follow links only, it is not natural. So I highly recommend to get no-follow links also.
If you find a site that is relevant to your niche then absolutely leave a comment even if it is No Follow; if all your links are DoFollow this would look inorganic. I wouldnt go out of my way to get a NoFollow link but I'd similarly not avoid it.
Agreed. If I have a chance to create a handful of nofollow links without much effort, I'll do it. At the very least it helps my link diversity and looks more natural.
Certainly, commenting on 'nofollow' blogs means you are commenting on spam free blogs. Commenting on such blogs will definitely not give you benefit of backlinks, but you are exposing your website to people who believes in blog commenting for genuinely participating in community. All in all, you are not getting backlinks but you are expanding your quality visitors base. Finding niche related dofollow blogs is really difficult, so, I use 'Keyword Country' for finding such blogs that accepts blog commenting for backlinking... Its a great tool!
"search engine does not value no follow links." This sentence can be said only for google. Yahoo counts them as a complete link and show in its result when you check your site backlink in it. Don't worry for it.
nofollow link not only generate traffic but also help in search engine (search engine other than google)
i have been running from commenting on nofollow blogs like i saw a lion. now i will begin to change my mind.
When you do Blog Commenting as long as they are related, it is still links and could still help. In fact, nofollow + dofollow links = natural links.
According this work, nofollow links have some value for Google too socialseo.com/blog/an-experiment-nofollow-links-do-pass-value-and-rankings-in-google.html
Google Webmaster Tools show both follow and nofollow links. So I think even nofollow links must be worth something then, otherwise they would not be listed there.
No-follow links are still valuable. Though it doesn't help increase a site's ranking, it still have lots of value link the fact that it can generate conversion traffic.
thanks for the info, never thought of commenting on blog, There are quite a few blogs with the content of my site, Though I always worried people with think of it has spam
