Hi all, I'm sure that you all are using google alerts to see when your site is being mentioned, or when a link to your site is created. The thing is, does google index the links even if it does not send alerts? Does google index the link even if it does not show you the link in the Webmaster tool? Cheers, eCom
Google Alerts seem to be as random as their Google Dance..... I might have gotten about 2% of the alerts I should have. Yes they will index links without a notification. Google is again a bit strange here. They are usually running behind on their reporting it seems in their tools. Then sometimes a lot of links drop and then are back the next week. I gave up trying to figure out their reporting strategy and just use it as a rough measurement.
