Hiya Guys, I felt that I had to say something as I am getting increasingly confused as to what is the best way to get links?? Is building quality PR one way links dead NOW? They are Judging by this post: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1420429 3 Way links don't work anymore? WTF? Can anyone of you wizards please help by giving a checklist of helpful tips to promote sites in Google (mainly) as I don't want to waste time by building quality links if they prove to be as "much use as an ashtray on a motorbike!" Cheers in advance... x
instead of focusing on PR backlinks, focus on theme based backlinks. a low PR relevant backlink will worth more than a higher PR irrelevant backlink. google these days defines neighborhood and theme based backlink is the way to go. interesting question tho from someone offering professional seo services
Well thanks that - I knew that anyway MR Rude!!! The confusion was that, the post indicated that PR was not that important anymore that's all!! I've always build theme based links; I have also created posts, banging on about how relevancy is soooo important!! Anyhow I know exactly what I’m doing when it comes to SEO thanks very much. If I was such a dunce why would I get this result: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&rlz=1R2DKUK_en&q=beauty+school&meta= for my client?? No1 out of 112,000,000 WOULD I??
The importance of link building is the "building" of credibility. Remember Google is robotic and can only differentiate by pre-programmed algorithms. It has no human judgement... ... bring in links! Links can only be added by a human; whilst we are lazy, if we do find something that is relevant and high-quality we will link to it. A reference, "seal of approval" if you like - that human judgement means something to Google; afterall, their service is all about providing the best material for it's users - so having some human influence is important don't ya think! Think of link building as off-site credibility building - find places where you can help people and weave in some anchor text links where appropriote. Say you find a blog post with comments that's in your niche and you can add something amazing to the conversation - write an imformative, engaging comment with a couple of text-embedded links. Don't stray more than two links in - otherwise it looks a shade spammy. Take a look in my signature for some more ideas..
