Links and Timing

    Assuming you get links that are going to improve your position, how long does it take, on average, for the change in position to happen. Does it happen at the next Page Rank Update or before??

    Google update serps on daily basis.
    Just get backlinks and wait a little till backlinks get older and SE's spot them and you will see real rankings in about one month - maybe even earlier.

    The SERPs get changed continiously, so it might have changed as we speak.
