I just joined LinkMarket and I getting alot of unrelated sites wanting to do link exchanges. Lots of them are gambling sites. Is there some other service comparable to LinkMetro?
If you take a minute at Linkmarket, you can go through the categories and opt out of the sites you don't want to link with.
Thanks, Ferret. I think I would pass the affiliate test because only 6 of my 180 pages are affiliated related but they are on my main menu thats why they look prominent. I guess in your opinion they are worth the $20. Maybe when I get out of the sandbox and start getting more traffic...i can sign up. Thanks again.
well DP's coop is like forming a group and putting other group members ads on your site and in return they will show ur ads. check it more at coop sub-forum.
poseidon & webcom - If you are part of the DP coop - can i take a look at how your banners are implemented?
Look at the ads at the bottom of this site, the ones that always change when you refresh the page, those are coop ads.
There's certainly a few.. linkmetro.com linkmarket.net linkvault.com linksmaster.com rsslinkexchange.net/?livefeed=2 (though I'm not quite sure how this one works...never used it before) Out of all of these though, LinkMetro and LinkMarket are the top 2. They offer much more than their competitors. Personally I like LinkMetro the best (though I may be a little biased since Brad's my brother...but nonetheless, it's a quality service).. I've recently seen my niche sites ranking very high (#1, 2, 3 for the biggest keywords) for their keywords on MSN and Yahoo. Someone mentioned that the price for a monthly membership to LinkMetro is $20/month...very true. However, if you PM me I can give you a very nice discount... All the best, Matt
I would stay away from Linkmarket. I would say over %50 of the links that you get wont do you any good. This is a place where people put your link on pages that cant be indexed because their is no path from the homepage or they use <nofollow>. Not everyone on their does this, just a majority. You need to look hard at each link that you get from there.
I agree with aaron_nimocks about the potential link exchange fraud that can occur in time (not specific to linkmarket, but likely with a higher probability in any large network). It likely would not occur in the first few weeks as partners know the other partner is checking, but may happen later. It is unfortunate to see this happen to webmaters after they notice their ranking or PR dropped. That is why our network has a built-in link exchange fraud auto-checker. It regularly checks for missing links, tampering with robots.txt, meta tag robot, noindex, nofollow, etc... In a manual link exchange, it may be manageable to check partners in the first few weeks, but as links increase in quantity, it can be very time consuming to check robots.txt, noindex/nofollow, etc. And usually the discovery happens when it is too late....
I've jsut paid them (Linkmarket) the $25 yearly subscription fee. But after reading some of the comments here, I wish I hadn't. It seesm all the links are fraudalant.
This is not the first time I have read this kind of statement..This is also the reason I quit using linkmarket. In my opinoin, its a waste of time..However, I to, got sucked into paying the $25 a month before I figured all of this out..lol
