www.linkmarket.net have updated the functionality of the site to now include 'Link Removal'. How the Linkmarket.net system works, in brief: You register your site (free or paid options available), and select from the impressive directory, sites with which you would like to swap links, add them to your basket, click a button, and the automated system sends out requests for you. You will also receive requests which you are free to accept or decline. Any requests you choose to accept, you then add to your site, enter the url of the link location and the linkmarket.net spiders verify it is in place. The other webmaster then places the link to your site and the spiders verify their existence. The new feature, long overdue, now checks to make certain that those link requests which you have requested and responded and therefore have added their link to your site, have also added your link to theirs. Previously, there was a loophole of sorts where you requested a link, had the request accepted, added the relevant information to your site but the other site failed to uphold their end of the bargain by adding your information. This then sat in 'limbo' awaiting confirmation. This could be the situation almost indefinitely. You had linked but they hadn't. It wasn't a big issue but it did happen. Now a new feature has been included which follows up on these 'limbo links' and tells you which ones have failed to carry the reciprocal link process through to completion after a period of time. For my money, it's the best linking facility on the web. (I have no affiliation. I just like the service)
About time. I recently did a check and found that about 30% of sites that we linked to no longer had a link to our sites.
