It should be already expected, I mean think realistically. Your not going to get good links because most of them are link farms.

Getting free links is a skill. A good way is to find other blogs that need guest posts and are just looking for good content. Sites with good PA, DA and a PR 1 and above. Look for blogs in your local area. Using youtube is also a good way to get traffic and others to link to your blog. Otherwise set aside a little and get someone reputable to get you links ($25 to 150). But before you start that make sure you do your keyword research and know what type of keywords you are trying to rank for.
Free backlinks are bad don't bother with them. It is usually low quality links aswell. Spend some money and/or build HQ backlinks yourself.
