    Well, if you use Nofollow tag, you tell the SE that, hey, here is a link, but I'm not giving it a score. But the link will still get indexed, if that what you were asking for??

    Good Links or link to competitors site is the way to increase traffic and the way to promote your site. You must choose competitors site that is related to your site and can be trusted.
