Linking to websites for free content ?

Hi, I was wondering what happens when we link to websites for free articles from free web content sites (like goarticles.com) ?

    1. How those links affect our sites ?
    2. Are we supposed to check for the quality of the website we're linking to ?
    3. Can we hyperlink words on the free article for linking purposes ?

Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks

linking out is actually benefical to a certain degree. if the link is relevant and the site is seen as an authority site then you will benefit. when i link out i like to make the link open a browser window so i dont lose the user.

Hi, I wanted to share with you some information I got from Torka in another forum about this subject, you can find the complete thread at:

    http://www.highrankings.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21905

    Torka wrote:

"If you're going to post an article that some one has made available to you on the condition that you include a link back to their site, then you include a link back to their site. Plain and simple. As the author, they hold the copyright, and they can stipulate the terms under which you are allowed to use their intellectual property.

If you think the article is worthwhile, then you pay the author's price -- which in this case is a link.

"If you don't want to include the link in the way the author has stipulated, don't use the article.

If you're concerned about the "quality" of the author's site, don't use the article.

If you don't want to link out to anybody (for whatever reason), don't use articles that require links as a condition of use.

Find another article from an author whose site is more to your liking or who doesn't require a live link, write a new original article yourself, or hire somebody to write one for you.

There's really no such thing as "free" high-quality content. You'll pay, either with a link to the author's site, with money to hire a writer, or with your own time and energy.

If you want to add links in the body of the article, I would suggest contacting the author to get his/her permission, unless the author or the site where you found the article posted explicitly have given you permission to make changes. You could probably get away with it (as long as you don't change the actual words in the article) but if you want to play it as safe as possible, get the author's permission before making any changes.

    Torka"
