how true that when you link to the sites with lower PR than yours might affect your rankings?

Good question! Iuno but I'm guessing it shouldn't affect it in a negative way unless you are linking to link Farms.

There is no problem at all in linking to low PR sites. It will not affect your rankings in any way if they are relevant sites.

On the other hand, it is sometimes suggested that linking to reference/authority sites can improve your ranking. Personally I've never seen any evidence, but it is possible.

Anyway that would be a google consideration only. If this would affect your site PR because of the low PR of these site, do you really think it would raise it if the PR of these site raises? I don't think so!

Instead of searching for site with good PR, search for those that are relevant to your area, good PR or not. It might be only a question of time before they get good PR.

yes of course..consider the sites related to yours, but it would be better if they have higher PR.

no one wants to be pulled down once you hit the higher SERP because of should i say irrelevant links you have.

Link to other site even it has PR0 will not hurt your site if your site is relevant.

In my experience, it shouldn't lower your PR at all.

Think about it--if your competitor had a high pagerank, you could create a bunch of dummy sites, link to their site, and bring their pagerank down. That wouldn't work.

Page rank of the site does not have anything to do with linking. The page rank of the page that the link is on does. A well formed SEOed link will have great impact in 3 years when that PR0 site is indexed by Google and goes to a PR6.

Just stay away from the black hat sites and Link Farms.

I agree that a relevant link (even PR0) will not have a negative effect if relevant...

But do you think a neutral/generic link will have any positive effect? Meaning do you think a link from a PR0 to your page (say a PR3 or 4) will do anything to boost linkjuice at a noticeable level?
