I came accross a site and saw this on the bottom sitename.com is absolutly legal and contain only links to other sites on the Internet : ( rapidshare.com, megaupload.com, megashare(s), mega, dailymotion.com, myspace.com, ouou.com, stage6.com, tudou.com, veoh.com, youku.com, youtube.com and others.. ) We do not host or upload any video, films, media files ( avi, mov, flv, mpg, mpeg, divx, dvd rip, mp3, mp4, torrent, ipod, psp), zmovie.tv is not responsible for the accuracy, compliance, copyright, legality, decency, or any other aspect of the content of other linked sites. If you have any legal issues please contact appropriate media file owners / hosters. IS THIS LEGAL? I would like to start a site then too like this XD
It is not legal in the US, and is a prosecutable offense (more maximum jailtime than child abuse, actually). It is not legal in Canada and the UK. It is grey-area in Netherlands.
Well my paypal is registered in the UK, I'm living in Libya (here they sell pirated CDs, u can't find original ones) , but I'm still scared about getting fined or similar.
You may get your paypal shut down if you try running ads or anything, but if you host in libya and live in libya, you shouldn't have an issue.
No my HOST is not in Libya, and I was thinking to make profit by selling ad spaces (I can easily get 10k visitors daily to a movie site) , like zmovies.tv , that's the actual site I got the idea from.
In Libya I think your main issue would be loosing your domain name, not legal action against you yourself. If your site gets big enough, trust they will shut it down (like they did to watch movie links and 5 other sites recently)
