You should read from authority sources or sources which can be relied upon for eg Google own news, CNN, BBC etc. Just getting the news out of a blog doesn't mean a thing. If we were to believe in whatever we read, Elvis is still alive.
I agree, and really think it's nothing more then that.... regardless of what I say below Three words... Buy, Sell or Trade Well, actually, two words under those three.... Link Sales
Hi, Please don't believe his words. I am having nearly 50 links in for my site from DP... I dun know why he blogged wrong things?
I do not buy that at all whether it is link bait, scare mongering or just plain incorrect i am not entirely sure but i have never heard anything like that before.
It depends, I won't say Google blogs are BS, nor would I say a long standing blog is BS, you need to be at your discretion and double check first before believing in a blog or believing in anything written online. Some discretion and double checking seldom harms and can save you sometimes
lol that was a right old SEO scientific experiment he did. I might as well say my balls effect SERPs because when i touch them some article does well on Google.
Or, you could read the blog post and evaluate it based on the merits of what he said. It doesn't seem that the actual "test" and "evidence" entered into the first 15 posts... According to his "test," he had a page that wasn't ranking. When he removed the link to Digital Point, the page magically ranked. Ergo, linking to Digital Point equals Google punishment. I agree with some of the comments on the article (and the most recent poster here), that the test is hardly scientific. But this - and not the fact that it is an independent blog - should determine whether or not you believe what you read. Although it would be interesting to create a few new pages specifically to test this out. If nothing else, would be fun to prove him wrong. - Walkere
It all comes down to one fact for the blog owner, it does not matter if it is true or not, think of how many people will read the article anyway. There is already a thread started about it. This all equals ton of traffic. Chances are it is pure BS but it accomplished what the author wanted, it created a stir in DP and tons of traffic. I for one refuse to even read it!
Smart of you, but should blogs are too tempting for me to refuse a glance Anyway one aspect to note that DP is indexed extremely rapidly by Google, that alone shows how much emphasis Google placed on DP, so base on that we can safely assume that the harming of ranking should not be true.
I have been using DP for quite sometime now regularly and I have never noticed that I haveb een penalized for participating here.
If what he said is was true, then all of the signature links here would be gone right now. Besides, DP has a PR of 6, it just shows Google value DP.
I believe that his methodology is flawed. This article makes a good argument that PR has a lag of months, because the web is so large and dynamic. volvospeed.com/Mods/page_rank.html I think that it might be a bit of an oversimplification - Google might choose, for example to re-rank sites that are changing rapidly or new faster than it re-ranks established stable sites. Nevertheless, the delay is substantial and many things change over the length of the delay.
