Before anyone jumps on me for not searching, I have... I do understand that there's contributory infringement in the US. In Australia, however, is there such a law? I did notice that there was discussions of the DMCA being used in Australia, but I couldn't actually find any publications confirming it.. (Rather, more along the lines of.. 'US spoonfeeds Australia their laws in a free trade something-or-other')

Okay, to explain my situation. I'm interested in providing a website that embeds copyrighted content that is hosted on another website (not owned by me). Is this against Australian law? From what I can see, I think it would be.. but maybe someone can enlighten me.

Embedding copyrighted material would be infringement (I understand the material is not hosted on your site, only displayed). I am not sure about just providing off-site links, but that doesn't sound like what you want to do anyway.

A DMCA filed with google would still fall under US law for losing your adsense account or removing your site from their index.
