Hi Guys. Could i have some advice ASAP. I got this reply:

    -------------
    Hello,

Thanks for your thoughts on the content of your site. I understand that
the site doesn't host any of the content it shows. Please note that if you
hold the license to this material or have permission to provide cataloged
links to the videos from your site, we'll be happy to re-enable the site's
ad serving. We appreciate your understanding.
    --------------------------

What should i reply to them with? Surely by the video sites supplying the links to link to we are allowed to catalog to the links?

    Thanks for your advice.

This is really weird... I just don't get it. Do we need to have some kinda permission if we wanted to embed youtube movies? And how do we do that, by contacting youtube?

What about friendster.com, they use youtube and also showing google ads?

Isn't the whole purpose of Youtube to share videos? What are we supposed to be doing - sharing the crap of kids lip-synching in their bedrooms but ignoring the movie clips, trailers, vintage TV shows, and music videos?

    Google can't be that stupid.

    I Won! :)

    -----------------------
Thank you for your response. We have now re-enabled ad serving to *mymainsite*.

Please note that because ad serving to your site was temporarily disabled,
there may be a delay of up to 48 hours or more before ads begin appearing
on your site again. We appreciate your patience.

    Sincerely,

    Scott
    The Google AdSense Team
    -----------------------

I will now be asking them to do the other two sites that are similar.

I would just like to thank you all for your advice. :)

    Thanks.

I'm confused. Google has bought You Tube. I have a bunch of Google videos (you tube I thought) that are on my sites. I search for them and add them to my blogs. How can this be a copyright violation of Google's adsense terms?
Am I missing something here? What kind of videos are on the site???

I don't think I could be violating anything right? I mean, they are Google videos on my site....I don't understand, but half of the Google videos in their own search engine are probably under someone else's copyright, right?

Charisse V, as far as I understand the reply from G's AdSense Team - it IS OK to have youtube on your website together with AdSense,
    wwfc_barmy_army, right ?

Well i've just had some bad news....

    ---------------------------
Unfortunately, upon further reviewing your sites, we're unable to permit
Google ads to be displayed on *mainsite*,
*similar site 2* and *similar site 3* . While we understand
that your site doesn't host this material, AdSense publishers may not
place ads on sites that are involved in sharing or cataloging illegal
copies of copyrighted material, regardless of where the material is
hosted. Therefore, ad serving to the three sites will be disabled. We
    appreciate your understanding.

    -------------------------

Can anyone give me any advice for a reply?

    Thanks

wwfc_barmy_army, could you please PM me your url ( I will NOT post it here or anywhere else, you have my word) - I'm wondering what kind of video exactly you have on these site1 site2 site3...

    Can be adult content ?
Sorry, don't want to offend you, but I'm wondering...

Did you get this in reply to your question or new email?

Hope Adsense Team will understand what did they wrote to you - that "youtube is hosting, and cataloging, illegal content of copyrighted material".

I haven't seen anything like this before, neither in different place than your posts wwfc_barmy_army ...

I think they are just making sure that they don't get into more copyright trouble over youtube then they already are. If you make money on ads next to youtube video's - they make money on the same - and that money is dirty if there are copyright problems (and therefore it can get them into legal trouble).

It may even be a provision they needed to close the deal with the various copyright owners (music companies etc.) on youtube and copyright violation.
