    Ok as a new webmaster and newbie to SEO I wanted to list the ways I know of to get backlinks and see if there are any I am missing.

    Directories
    Articles
    Press Release
    Blogs/Blog Comments
    Forums

    What am I missing? And thx in advance for helping out a newb.

    Text-Link-Ads.com, TextLinkBrokers.com, etc...

    You can do Viral Linking...starting a different opinion on a "one-way" concensus.

    Link Baiting is a great way to get some natural links to your site. It definitely is based on the topic of the site. Some creativity is necessary to be successful at it.

    Yeah, you can buy ads - links or banner ads, or
    even buy links on high ranking websites in your
    niche.

    Apart from that, I think you have pretty much
    summed it up.
