Hi, I am the webmaster of a number of sites that all cover similar topics. I am considering linking the main site out to one of my other sites but am not sure whether to link from home page to home page / deep page to home page / deep page to deep page to get the maximum benefit. Does anybody have any thoughts, comments or suggestions? Thanks!
Pick a keyword term on the other site that you want to rank for. Then optimize a page for the term. After that is done link from the home page of site A to the optimized page on site B with your keywords as the anchor text. You can do this with all of your related sites, but don't overdo it.
Be very careful with developing what might be considered a link farm. Remember, Google is a registrar and has access to all whois data. Interlinked sites stand out like a sore thumb - if that is the only source of their links. That said, if you have one or more relatively strong sites (PR 5-6) you can use these to jump start new sites. Just use good sense and a modicum of restraint.
