I have a question about anchor text. I am going after the keywords "cedar city real estate" "cedar city utah real estate" and some others. My question is if I make the links for "cedar city utah real estate" will the search engines (mostly google) still rank my site for Cedar City Real Estate because it is contained within Cedar City Utah Real Estate or do I need to build links for each keyword seperately? Any help on this would be great. Thx, Sam

i dont think it makes much difference , the essential is the anchor text phrase contains your keyword in it.

I think for the links that you have "Utah" inserted, you wouldn't get as high a rating for "Cedar City Real Estate".

youre partly right. If all your link text is "ABC DEF" then you can still ran well for DEF, but you are less likely to do that. I think that google calcualtes the KWs share of the anchor text, which is 50% in this case. Otherwise, as someone pointed out, people would just spam with looong anchor texts.
