Linking my own sites - Question

I wonder if it is better for SEO to have my sites hosted on several different web hosting accounts (different web hosts) if I link my sites between each other?

E.g. I'm now working on a new site and I already have two PR4 sites, so would it be better to host the new site elswhere? - I mean if I put links to the new site on my PR4 sites.

Is this important for the SERPs of my site?

i don't think Google would think that being on the same host, for ranking reasons, unless you keep raising spam flags. if you're legit i don't see any reason to care.

Yes I agree, I dont think google recognizes all links in that case. I have done that with my network of sites and did poorly this last crawl.
