Linking more than 45-50 sites together

    Hello,

I have a PR5 site working more than 2 years. Without aggressive link building i managed to obtain PR5 from that site. (~15.000 pages are indexed by Google) So it looks like a good site for google.

A couple of months ago, i decided to open new sites. And for easily transferring my user base to thsoe new sites, i put their links to the left bar (side) of my old site!

The sites are not totally unrelated but i divided the sites into two networks and used two different blocks to hold the links!

The sites in the same network using a similar pattern in their domain names! For example lets name the first network as "A Network" and call the second one "B Network". Here A and B are two words that i dont want to write here.

The domain names are like the ones below for the sites of two network sites:

    X-A.org
    Y-A.org
    Z-A.org
    ...

    B-U.org
    B-V.org
    B-W.org
    ...

    Here X, Y, Z, U, V and W aredifferent words!

And lets say my old network is X-A.org which means it is part of the first (A) network!

So there are 45-50 sites opened after the last update of Google. All sites has the same IP and all have two left blocks listing the sites in both of the networks.

Do you think this is too dangerous? Can i lose my PR? And %90 of my traffic is coming frm Google! If this is too dangerous, are there anything i can do to solve this problem? (removing one of the blocks from each site works? (i mean each site only advertise the network it belongs to. Am i too late?))

Note that this is not a spammy effort. May aim is to really create a network of sites and they are valuable sites for the users. So the sites are logically connected but not necessarily in the same domain. You can think of About.com as an example. They have totally unrelated subdomains and have a huge network of sites in fact!

I am sure that if a human from Google investigate sites, they can see that my efforts are serious. But can i loose my PR because of a check of automatic script?

I am waiting for your thoughts..

    Thanks.

It would be a good idea to have all the sites on their own C class IP addresses. Might cost you an extra $20 a monht, but it would be worth it to have them look seperate from each other.

Hi...good post, but I'm not sure what you mean by use different IP. For example, I use Yahoo Hosting for $11 per month...if I set up a brand new host package for $11 per month...per site...would this solve the problem?

I'm trying to understand this inter-linking thing...because I too have some PR 5 and 6 sites...so it would be worth it to pay the extra $11 per month and have all my new sites linking together!

Do you think C class subnet is enough?
    For how long yet?
