Hi, I run a few sites on the same hosting package. I seem to remember reading that linking between sites on the same IP actually makes you worse off in the Big g's eyes. Can anyone confirm this? thanks
some people will say that a link from the same ip block is not as valuable as an equal link (same pr, depth, anchor text and content) from a different ip however if its related content to your site then regardless of whether it is on the same ip or not then it will have some benefit. thats providing that the site (ip) linking to it has not already been penalised for things such as spam.
Linking from same site does not make anything worse but links from same IP are of no value. Google consider links from different IP's
It's not as valuable as links from other IPs but certainly still helps. I used to have some sites on the same IP -- when I launched a new one, the first and only thing I would do for a while was add a link on the other sites on the same IP. They would instantly rank pretty well for a fair number of keywords, so obviously it was helping.
that is why you need to find free hosting and install your site there, where you can give links from different server.
