I own a PR4 site and I a PR0 site that I have yet to promote. How should I link from my PR4 site to my PR0 site for the best result? Should the link be closer to the top? What words should I use in the link itself? Also, maybe I should go back and ask if it's even worth it. My PR4 site is not at all related to my PR0 site. Should I still link it?
Where exactly you link to it on the page really doesn't matter. The PR will be evenly distributed across all the links on the page. The fact that the sites are unrelated means you really should NOT link to it. It'll help the new site but could hurt your existing one. Only link TO related sites but get links FROM just about any site possible.
You could link to the page from a directory or link page. Your better off getting links from other sites and directories to help new site out.
You could link to your new PR0 site from your PR4 site for a short time while you are looking for links from other related sites. Use targeted keywords for your PR0 site as your anchor text on the link. It will definitely help to get some immediate backlinks but in the longer run you need more links from related sites. All the best
if they are related web sites, giving link from high pr web site to the low pr web sites will help your seo
Remember that Google essentially ignores PR0-3 websites when determining pagerank so there is absolutely no problem in linking your PR0 site on a PR4 site (it won't pull it down to a PR3). When the PR0 becomes a PR4 in itself then you have a reciprical PR4. Enough of those are treated as one PR5 so that with enough PR4 links the PR4 (old site) should bump up to a PR5 thus strengthening the PR4 (new) site.
