Hi guys, I was just curious as to the following: I recently signed up with linkedin and realized that the mainpage had a newsletter/magazine style group of pictures that I can click on to. It was an about mark zuck and mark pincus, and when I clicked it, it eventually led me to slate.com. It made me think, is this another form of CPC perhaps? and even if this wasn't a CPC ad, do you think it's possible that people have "advertisements" of articles in their main page where people click on it, and get directed to the full article of another website? I'm a bit new to this stuff, but I just realized how powerful it would be for magazine/news style companies whose primary product is their news itself and people who click on to the news thumbnail have a high intention of reading on further (that's why they clicked), making the advertisement really feel like it's not an advertisement at all in the first place (and it delivers value to the customer, since the customer gets exactly what he/she wants). Sorry for the crazy run-ons there... but if there's someone out there who can help me with specific examples that they might know of where what I talked about is occurring, please enlighten me. (If this is an age-old technique... then I guess I learn today..) =)
