My best link building technique is article submissions, social book marking, blog commenting and web directories.
The best way to boost rankings, also for keys with high competition, are hosted marketing pages aka presell-pages on old authority domains. Contextual (in-content) backlinks on Blog postings could also deliver some good results...
the best are forum posting and blog commenting. even though i am running a link directory i don't prefer link directory is the best.
Relevant blog posts, social bookmarking, web 2.0 properties, articles submitted to authority article directories, private blog networking, relevant and informative forum posts. etc. I think once you have the principles of linking in mind you can really just apply them wherever they'll fit online! Cheers, Kieren
I used to build tons of links on worthless social bookmarking websites and article directories, but now I have found that high PR links are the only way to build links to your sites. You can check my sig to see how I do this, but I am able to see page one of Google for many high competition keywords in a matter of a few weeks.
For the long run this is awesome to get high quality one way links. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1305452
