Dows anybody know for sure the relevance of different c-class ips for linkbuilding and pagerank? Would it make a difference if i host 10 sites under the same ip and link them to another site, or all 10 with different c-class ips? Please post also links or research letters if you have any. Thanks!
That answer is yes. Take a look at the following: http://www.thatsseo.com/2009/04/influence-of-ip-address-in-seo/ http://www.seohosting.com/blog/seo-help/class-c-ip-addresses/ http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/013543.html http://www.class-c-ip.com/ I also used to work for a company that got slapped with a penalty after interlinking 19 websites, all with the same IP address with sitewide links and so have seen it first hand.
Sitewide links could be the reason on their own - you need to be careful. But ideally you waould want to order SEO HOSTING - have you ever heard of it? It gets you different IPs for no matter how many sites you have... 3 days ago I went down 13th to 16th after buying links in 15 relevant sites... 8 of them had identical IP - so I asked to remove my links... Here is my story...
most of major popular sites have inter linking to their own sites, so the point is how google judge the interlinking...
Only large authority sites can do major interlinking these days. If you're a newer site, fugheddaboutit! Now if you're going to be that meticulous about it, not only do you need different c-class ip's but you need to make sure the whois info isn't the same, several registrars, different hosting companies, etc. Why go through all of that? Only do it if you have to...which is called "out in the open" linking where you place a box on your home page that says "Visit other sites in our network" or a "Blogroll". SEO hosting is very good also.
