Here's a nice thread to help out anyone stuck on what Linkbait ideas look like. Just post examples of linkbait and what category of linkbaiting you think they belong in. Here let me get you guys started:

    Category: Useful Link List

    Must Read Search Marketing Blogs

Oh, by the way please don't post your own, if it's truly good linkbait someone will post it for you.

    Thank You

I have some really good ideas for linkbait, I think they will probably get dugg. I'm not gonna post them here so someone else can use them though :D If you want to know what is good linkbait, just look at basically anything that gets on digg.

I actually just posted this on another thread, but I thought this thread might like to read this story too...

If you are like us, you spend a lot of time and brain cells trying to come up with creative content, unique stories and anything else to pull in links to your sites. This time we got lucky and it fell right into our laps...

The San Diego Golf Academy has been a client of ours for some time now. We provide SEO and link building services for them. A few weeks ago the president emailed me that one of their students hit a hole in one on a very difficult course in Hawaii. In fact, they thought it might be a world record. He wanted us to turn this into a good press release.

Needless to say, I could barely contain myself and immediately went to work on... turning this into LINKBAIT!

A few days ago we posted this page on their site: http://www.sdgagolf.com/ace.php
It is the complete story and video animation of the hole in one. It turns out it wasn't the longest hole in one on record, but he did make it on the most difficult hole in the world!

We just started our PR campaign and have posted it on Digg, Netscape & others, so we don't have much in the way of stats to report yet.

If any of you are into golf or want to see a nice example of linkbait, it's worth checking out.

    Sometimes you just get lucky!
