I run a vBulletin forum and as part of an SEO hack there is a LinkBack feature. I can moderate incoming linkbacks and stuff. I understand how they work, but not the benefit. Most of the incoming linkbacks are from within my forum anyway, but there are a few others and I can Approve or Delete them - but what should influence this decision?
me too, I think, I cannot see any benefit from these features, I hope someone will be able to explain these further to me.. So that I can be able to know how I will maximize it to get its full advantage
These features are primarily designed create a link between two sites or blogs. Trackback in particular is a good way to create a connection between your blog and someone else's. Hence, it can boost site traffic.
therw are just three types of linkbacks--say pingback Refback and Trackback pingback is not so prone to spammy . Refback, a similar protocol but easier than Pingbacks since the site originating the link doesn't have to be capable of sending a Pingback request.Trackback, a similar protocol but more prone to spam. so the choice is yours
trackbacks are used to see what other bloggers/webmasters are thinking about your post - whether they agree with your point or not.So that is a good feature.
Yeah I know what they are, what I'm asking is that in the moderator panel where I can approve or delete incoming linkbacks/trackbacks, what exactly should I be considering when I delete or approve them? Also, a lot of them are from within my forums, these serve no use do they?
