After building links, when I use the above command on google it does not show anything! though, the where the links were placed are already indexed by google! Do you know why? my keyword though getting good position?
Google doesn't show most of a site's links even after it finds them. It intentionally keeps this information restricted. You should use Yahoo Site Explorer instead.
I've noticed that even Google Webmaster Tools doesn't even accurately display the number of links to a site. Like someone has already replied, Yahoo Site Explorer is the best way to tell what inlinks you have. And like another poster said, just keep aiming for quality inlinks and you'll do just fine.
Try it without the www. If you do it with the www in there, it'll only show links that include it. If you try it without the www, it'll show both, with and without.
If you just want to know the general number of backlinks a site has, then the yahoo site explorer is fine to use. But if you are looking for the backlinks that are used to calculate Google PR, then you cna't use the yahoo site explorer, because Google doesn't count alot of those backlinks. For PR purposes, many links that you see in yahoo site explorer are useless.
That is absolute nonsense! You have no idea if that is the case or not. How do you know that Google does not count them? You are making this up and spreading nonsense.
Why? How does that give any advantage over using Yahoo! Explorer suggested by others in this thread? backlinkwatch.com is powered by Yahoo!!!!!!!
i more trusted yahoo, to see my backlink rather then google. yahoo allways show better result then google.
Well, for one, Yahoo counts all of a sites backlinks, even ones with the 'nofollow' tag. For two, often, Google "re-sets" a domains backinks when it drops. But yahoo continues to count the old backlinks. Belive me Agent000, those of us that are heavily into SEO know that the backlinks that Yahoo displays are virtually useless for SEO purposes.
Not knocking yahoo at all. Im just saying that if you wnat to see the backlinks that determine Google PR, then you need to look at the backlinks Google counts. Not all of Yahoo's links are considered as backlinks to Google.
