Said this 100 times but linkwheels are bullshit. If you are building them for your site, you are completely screwed. If you provide linkwheels as a service to others, then you are in the wrong line of work. I have no less than 50 threads explaining this going back years. Wrote that one in 2009. And sorry but Linkwheels are spam and completely useless. Nigel
I agree, linkwheels are completely overrated and a waste of time. Build SOLID, high PR relevant links to your pages and you can't fail. Simple.
what is the alternate to link wheel in all the gentlemen view? Does anyone has anything positive for the audience here? I have site of one of my client who sells Android Spy Software and they are forcing me to build the link wheels but I am still reluctant that link wheels are out of fashion and Google doesn't give it any value. But after again and again conversation they are still forcing to put link wheel on the board. I want to give them some good solution and that is why I want you guys to give a good solution if anyone has. Appreciate in advance.

Link wheels are complete and utter crap. And no, I have absolutely no compunction in saying that whatsoever. They fail to address anything important, or, for the sake of this discussion, relevant to the task at hand.
Well guys I heard somewhere from one of senior SEO that link wheel is still useful if it is used more technically. He gave the example of some renounced people and mentioned that these people still make link wheels but more technically. We need to observe them so that we can get to know what exactly is the technique.

It is actually very good process to get the traffic on your desired page but the question is how to use it. if we use it in unprofessional way it may went into the spam cart and vice versa. so the focus should be how we can make a link wheel a useful source of traffic.

Reason for your site's down may be any other but not the Link wheel. If we do it perfectly, it is acceptable by search engines. Even if its not done with perfectly, it wont effect your site's position and all. Try to find out the reason for your site's down. I don't think link wheel could be the reason for your site's sudden down.
