I was thinking of starting a linkwheel of just 2 web 2.0 properties and making the center hub being an ezine article. Is it better making the center an ezine article and not your squeeze page for example because on your squeeze page there isn't much content and in the article there is more content witch has a higher chance of someone going to your squeeze page and plus ezinearticles is hi PR.
I've built link wheels around some of my EZA articles and it did give me a nice boost in the rankings. I like to backlink to my articles and get them ranking. If your site is new, it's easier to get an article ranking in the SERPs than a new web site. I also like to get as much mileage as I can out of every article I write. I don't want my article to get my a little burst of traffic when it's first published and then quickly fade away. I want my articles to bring me long term traffic and if you get them to rank well in the SERPs you can get a nice long term traffic stream going.
when u did this, did u target the same keywords in your article in all yourr web 2.0 properties or different once?
Well I would say ezine articles are very strong in terms of SEO. This would make a great center for a link wheel. Also Squidoo Lens' make great link wheel hubs.
I targeted a variation of the keyword in the web 2.0 properties. Ex. If your keyword was "dog training" you could target "off leash dog training" or "dog training tips." The main keyword is still in there but I use a bit of variation. Seems to work pretty well.
Link wheels are an interesting thought, although I've not seen any results *yet* to make me think they are any better than just building backlinks normally.
