Does it matter if the content in a link wheel is duplicate? Been reading several places about this, they dont seem to come to a conclusion..
It matters. It does not get indexed and no backlinks then. I have a system that I use to get 100% indexed and backlink that good loves from Link wheel...
I dont know about the link wheel, but I was thinking of building a lot of blogs within my niche, put in spun articles, put some Adsense on there just for the fun of it, and spam the crap out of them just to get the pr up.. This would give me kinda good links for my main site, right? But the sites are not put in a wheele though.
Ok, I wont do that then. But have anyone here tried to build an armada of blogs within the niche and spam their link all over the place for pr?
Right.... This is probably the worst internet marketing technique I've heard of... And I'm just being polite!
The web is full of duplicate content that is indexed and there are some keywords that the same article is in the top 10 multiple times, people also sumbit the same article to directories and get backlinks. You cannot have duplicate content on the same site. The basic linkwheel theory is fine you just cannot close it off like a wheel, when you link the web 2.0 sites they need to be random so a pattern does not evolve.
Many people say it makes alot of difference and blah blah blah. I have tried it many times and they have never affected me so I don't believe in it.
I don't know where some of you get your info from. Only a couple use some logic. Google readily and willingly indexes, counts, and displays duplicate content all the time. Why people think otherwise is beyond me. I assume they just don't know any better. A backlink is a backlink is a backlink if it's from a page indexed by google. Which site gets the first SERP of duplicate content? Many say the first to publish it, but there must be a little more to it than that. The trick about link wheels is to get each one indexed. I used to have no trouble with squidoo, but lately it's been slower. Google is full of duplicate content people. Bury the myth. Stephen C
You can publish blogs with unique articles, add a couple of links to it naturally like what others are doing, in other words, make a real blog a real site and technically its not a link wheel.. but it works like one. At the same time you are not spamming the internet.
