I signed up for link vault 4 days ago, yesterday they were down all day. Today the are down again and my site was freezing till I removed thier script. I have heard good things, but are they really worth it?

Their service has been pretty erratic for the past few days. About 2 days back, their servers started getting back to normalcy, however yesterday again they faced outages. I was forced to remove their code yesterday (for the second time).

I have heard pretty good things about them. Hope that the problems that they are facing are only temporary in nature.

I checked the forum and others have posted about thier sites freezing as well. I am by no means an advanced programmer and the only solution I found was to remove the code to be able to load my site. I'm just wondering if the time spent dealing with these problems would be better used doing my own link development.

I use link-vault as well and find their support forum is very quick. So if your acctually having problems you can't fix yourself you should try and ask around the forum! Very helpful admins

Yes they are very quick, my main concern is about the effort expended versus the reward. Are they worth it? So far seems they are.

well it works but I think they are now overwhelmed by their growth...
to design for fast scalability is not always easy.

If you need an unoffical codefix to preven hanging or slow down send me a pm.

I changed my coding so there is only communication with LV every 3 hours or so.

It can affects sites where a lot of new pages are found.

I am no programer by any means.

One way to save time might be to put the code in an <include> statement on every web page. That why when the system is down you will only have to change and upload one file until the problem is resolved rather than every page.
