Posting just in case some of you have not heard tha LV hosting was went bust and they have to move there will be some downtime for a few days.
If you're lucky. Given there was a few days notice you'd think they'd back up the data, move to a new host and it would be a simple matter of switching DNS while the first host was still up. Given the spectacular (NOT!) skills in system administration we've seen to date my guess is that the move will take longer than expected, and data will be lost to boot.
If those guys are working on stuff why don't they just put a page that tells that instead of error page?
To be fair, this is a little more than doing a cPanel move and will take a bit of time. I do hope they communicate this through an alternate method, although communication has been lacking for some time. In the end, they will do what they want, wont tell us anything, and we will complain after it's done Anyone else still waiting for the promised vaultage from running the LV worker?
Yeah their email still works and I found out a bit more. They have multiple dedicated servers that the new ISP is setting up as we speak. My guess is 6-8 servers. In addition there is several gig's of backups to upload and load into the databases. So given the short notice, it's not going to happen overnight but a few days should do it. My guess is Wednesday or so next week given I think they said Monday.
It would be good if they could post some news on their homepage. I'll bet some people cancelled their paid subscriptions because they failed to do this.
Extreamly unprofessional for a paid service - not even an email. LV service is quite honestly terrible!!
I just hope things stablize after this server move. I wish they would give a quick update via email at least.
A holder page stating the site is in maintenance would be a great step to increase confidence. I think people are just not secure with the service being down from the limited interaction from the owners over the last month.
