    I've received the email too... Nice to get an update on how or what happened to LV. As everyone else, pretty lame excuse. They should get ready before the storm, not after...

    Also, my websites are running fine even with the LV servers down. May I suggest that every webmaster running LV keep building pages, more content... When LV gets back all those pages will be spidered and cached by Google, wich means more vaultage to spend :D

    Goes to show what a class act Shawn is to offer:
    * a constructive referral
    * ongoing welcome of discussion of Link Vault
    * a space to communicate support messages

    I'm glad to see LV has weathered the storm, though this should only make a stronger argument for everyone running critical (i.e. high $$$ sites) to use co-locations.

    One thing I didn't quite understand was why a few days of stability were needed first in order to batch links -- is it a process that gets stuck and needs to be restarted if it doesn't finish? If not, then just crank it out...the sooner we get back to normal, the better.

    I agree, let it rip. The link placement didn't seem to be on much of a scheduel anyway. Anyone else have these issues or am I taking crazy pills?

    I love this service, there is little I would change other than placing the servers in the middle of the desert...

    They started placing links, but the servers went down again for a few minutes so they had to restart the process. I'm assuming that they will start it back up again today.

    This is one of my favorite types of problems, not mine.
    Didn't take a storm to show us that link placement had issues. This should at least give them time to fix some bugs.

    yep, links haven't been showing up on one of my sites for about a month. It's happened 3 other times and I've posted about in their forums and PM'd the admin. 1/2 hour after that the links are back...they they drop off again in a couple days. Links weren't showing up before the storm so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't show after the storm either:)

    I haven't had any trouble with the system. Sometimes there will be a day where no link gets placed, but normally there is no problem.

    But I am a single cell entity in that ecosystem. So maybe bigger players have more problems. For me, if it works then cool, if not I have invested little so I wont worry about it.

    This storm make me realize once more than diversification is so important.

    Well, I had the good luck of setting up my site on Sept. 23. (www.jcurranphotography.com) So far, the site's been approved, test links work and I'm waiting... waiting for the whole thing to become active so that I can contribute meaningfully to this thread. As an aside, I also think Shawn's "the bomb!"
