I saw a link to link-vault.com somewhere on this site. Does anyone have any information on it? It seems a lot like the co-op advertising network. Is it the same? Is it good? Bad?

Similiar - It used static links rather than rotating.

It's good - I use it for some of my sites. :)

Someone did this amazing invention called 'search'. For instance, you search 'Link Vault' and the Search facility returns all the relevant posts on the subject.

Chances are you will find some info that way.

Link Vault allows static links. I´ve been using it and found it helpful. For a relatively new site with few links on it, I find that Marketleap shows about 30% BL from my DP sig, 30% from LV and 40% manual ... so the LV links are being recognised by Google.

The same site is second on mSN (big whoopee, I know) for a competitive term, relative to my small pond and I´d credit LV for that too.

You can join yourself here: http://www.link-vault.com/

Or if you feel like it, give me a vaultage boost by using my ref link: http://www.link-vault.com/?ss=938

I use LV and I'm not too impressed, I like the coop much better. I don't see meny of my links on very good pages. I know it's probably a luck thing, but that's my 2cents.

I left it because of that but it is a valid resource. You have to actually try it yourself and evaluate it (although you have to pay to do so)

I believe you had earlier posted that you had a PR0 with 1 page indexed. I advised you weren't ready for the Coop yet and the same would be true for LV

    so is this wrong then?

This is an automated service that costs you nothing.

quote taken from this page FAQ http://www.link-vault.com/faq.asp

It is something I am considering for some sites. I have heard only good things about it personally.

I didn't say that. Someone posted that they didn't like where their links were placed.

To be able to see that info, you need to pay or get lots of refferals.

Because the original poster is brand new and wouldn't have referrals when testing it, he would have to pay if he wanted to see where his links are

They changed their tune on that...you can still see the info without paying or reffering.

I think you can look up 500 links a month for free. Don't quote me on that.

Yea, if they would not have made that change I was going to pull out my one LV site. LV is a good concept but they need to get some more quality sites in the network. Of the couple hundred links I've received I wouldn't classify any of them as worth paying for.

    Lots of

    type links:)

So the page with the link on does not have to be cached in google then?

I don't think so. The rule, as I understand it, is that a page has to be cached by Google for you to point links AT IT. Links can be placed on any page, cached or not.

Not that I am aware of. How many links you get is based on your "vaultage". Unlike the coop's weight calculation, when you use vaultage you lose it - i.e. it's not a static #. When a link gets placed your vaultage decreases accordingly.

I could be off here - I only have one site in LV and don't live in their forums like I do here:)
