A Link Vault user has an ad running in the Coop with his/her referral url. A creative way to increase referrals I guess.

Nothing wrong with that, you can use AdWords to run ads for other advertising systems for example.

It's two different things... Yahoo can advertise Overture on AdWords, even though Google doesn't allow Overture publishers to run AdSense on the same pages.

People can use their weight however they want. If the ad isn't gambling, pharmaceutical or adult related, it's fine.

Well, if you guys want to disallow ads from other ad networks, maybe it should be put to a vote... personally, *I* don't care though.

I don't have a problem with it... just thought it was odd. I would much rather you put a vote to whether we can run both... heh

I think if we could run both it would be a pure win/win. I really don't see any down side. To think we can "keep LV a secret" and keep from drawing people away from the coop is pretty short sighted. A lot of the big boards won't name specific sites like the coop but somehow we figured it out and found our way here because it works and so word spread anyways. If LV is not good everyone who leaves the coop will be back. If it's much much better, everyone will be gone from the coop eventually. Most likely it's complimetary and we would all benefit from using both. I'd certainly like to try. How about it shawn?

I think it shows how solid the coop is. The ad in question doesn't violate the TOS and I doubt the TOS will be modified to disallow links to one website outside of the original terms. A sign of maturity and level headed thinking. I am sure that when all of the other ad networks have come and gone, the DP coop will be alive and kicking.
