Hehe - I didn't know they made supersized cryogenic tanks? Maybe I can do a deal with some facility.... ho hum Pete
Suddenly, link units seem a lot more interesting! How do those numbers compare to your revenue from the ad units? I had link units implemented for awhile and it didn't raise revenue at all. I believe I will try again!
Will i have never had any success with blending the links in. I always use a different colour but not to loud.
They are in a very prominent position, well blended and always visible without scrolling. I personally like the horizonal link unit, and do not use vertical. The numbers don't compare to ad units, there is a huge difference for me as well as these are more compact and less intrusive. I do wish you success!
$25 in link unit revenue so far. CTR and CPM are both low, and this may actually be reducing CTR on the ad units. But, it doesn't take up too much screen space and it's $25 I probably would not have had otherwise. Let's see... how many beers is that?
I was not really eager to use the links at first due to the second click needed but I have been playing around with them and found that they do work well. I have been blending mine in with the 4 link 486 x15 mid page(slightly below the fold). I have an entertainment based site that I work hard for those good .05 cent clicks LOL So having .50 cent or more clicks I am more than a little happy about it. Overall my links are about 25% of my $800 ish monthly total last month. I have kept them up and added more. I am going to try to move them up a little and make them stand out a little better with a color change too and see if improves. Thanks for the tips!
sounds like you are doing it right at 25% try and make sure that when the page loads the link bar is visable on the screen without scrolling.
> for people who may die soon and would like to pro-long their life by doing a few things Gadood, Minutes after reading your post about your site I saw this article on the NYTimes website (registration required): Link: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/06/health/psychology/06brod.html?8hpib From Today's NYTimes: How can you find hope when your chances of survival seem hopeless? How can you find joy while undergoing treatments that make you miserable and barely able to function? How can you be happy when there seems to be nothing to be happy about?
Thank You! I have to say it hardly seems like work when it is something you love I have to say the main reason I am doing it anywhere close to right is because of the great information and members in this forum. I have been around reading for months and I have learned so much invaluable information. So my thanks to all of you!
Less Ad Blindness.(As it is relatively new ) It leads to a page that shows only ads....visiitors are more likely to click on ads..if they are shown only ads..I am getting higher CTR after I added adlinks.
I'm glad to hear that so many of you have been able to increase your earnings using link units. I've forwarded this thread to the team who created link units, as they're always looking for ways to improve. Keep sending us feedback on your experiences!
AdSenseAdvisor: I would like to be able to block link unit keywords. I have a phpBB forum. In that forum, there is a thread about eSATA connectors. The link units that are displayed are "PHPBB Forum, PHPBB Boards, Mind Hacks, Templates, PHPBB Hosts". I would like to block "phpBB" related link units. Not by ad, but by entire link unit. Will
You might want to have a go at section targetting and wrap the google_ad_section tags around the post content of your forum. Then it will ignore "phpbb", "forum" etc. keywords unless they are actually in the posts. https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=23168
I deleted every reference to phpBB before Section Targeting became available. Those advertisers are getting tricky!
There is an interesting site called engadget.com where they use the link unit at the top and tuck away their own nav links below the fold. Kinda trick people into clicking the link units....
