an example would be one of my sites has a lot of stuff on teenage plastic surgery. the ads being served on the link bar are: plastic surgery------------vaginal plastic surgery-------------cheap plastic surgery now go on pete tell me you would not want to click on one of them p.s before anyone thinks they could build a good site around surgery I have more Qualifications in surgery than you can shake a stick at.
the site is in lilac and white, the link bar is a custom orange/light brown just after the first paragraph.
What's the CTR and ECPM like - don't give me exact figures, of course. Actually, I don't need to know the ECPM, just the CTR, and if AdLinks work better for you then the large rectangles. Pete
I only use large rectangles on 1 site that is entertainment teen based. because of the good copy i do as i have the knowledge to do it, a rectangle would be to course. the adbar looks like i have put it there as if to say "want to no more ?" it blends in to the site like a gate to a hidden garden
Right, I see. I've just pissed around some with mine and inserted some AdLinks in a similar fashion to what you're describing - it makes sense. I'll run them for 300 impressions on each of the pages I've done them in, and report back. Thanks! Pete
And in that 'hidden garden' wouldn't be Greenway swinging from a branch on his money tree, would it? Pete
The topics for large people who are interested in <something>, and another for people who may die soon and would like to pro-long their life by doing a few things. I try to target the vulnerable of society. <smirk> Pete
Keep it up.. I didn't think you was from the UK from the way you type, where abouts? I'm in 'Ull... Pete
Sigh I just updated and uploaded my pages, and realised I didn't paste the AdLink code in. What a muppet. Pete
I type american its a habit. but you can tell i am english as we share the same sense of humour born and live in southampton.
Hm, I can't see this working too well for my site - Google is only showing 1 link in the 468x15 AdLink bar, and it's centered and silly. Now if there was 4 links - which are available because in the vertical AdLinks I tested they are there.. then it would be more effective. What a silly ad serving method. Nnngh. AdSenseAdvisor: Please pass on my wishes for the option to disable this 'smart serving' - it simply isn't effective with many types of placement. Thanks! Pete
"and another for people who may die soon and would like to pro-long their life by doing a few things." what like clicking ads
Yeah man. I try to strike the fear of God in to them, giving them a mission to find out more about saving their lifes, with nowhere to go but Google ads. I'm only kidding, but yeah.. my current favourites are fat people and those on the brink of an early death - which suprisingly enough, a lot of the time are the same people. <grin> Pete
