I'm curious about the profitability of Link Units in Google AdSense. Does anyone have a success story or good strategies for link units? In your experience, do they perform better or worse than similarly placed text or image ad units?
In my experience link units get more clicks, but don't always give the best earnings. They take up less space but still manage to attract attention. You should make optimum use of all three, link units, image ads, and text ads.
link units are just something extra that doesn't take much space. i put them under my logo and make it look like navigation. use the old ad code so you have more control over the color. on link units?
Zodiac is right, link units don't take much space but we need to place them in easily accessible areas. All in all,Text ads and Link ads properly placed to match your website will always earn you well.
Wow, thanks for the great input everybody! Let me summarize: link ads are good if you place them in the right spot, change the color scheme to match your site, and make them look like navigation. CTR is good, but earnings don't quite match up to other ad formats. Sound about right?
Yes, link ads don't match normal ads. But their ideal location is different from normal ads. link ads work well as navigational ads, horizontal at the top, square format on top of menu columns.
