Link units affecting price per click for ad units placed below?

I was wondering if link units that are placed above ad units will make the payment received for clicks in the ad units lower by showing higher paying ads in the ad link units ? Just like when two ad units are placed above eachother, the higher one has higher value

 

I don't think so, because the link units only show keywords not actual ads. The price of the ads therefore won't be affected.

yupe, me too. i dont think the link unit can have affect like that. its really depend on your content where the keyword come from, and the layout just affect the ctr

 

Ok thanks for the information. I will give it a try for a week running with link unit and then remove it and see if the payment per click for the other ad units will be affected

 

Can't say I've ever noticed them have that affect.

 

It may. Link units work more like search results. Google usually charges more for search results than for AdWords results so it is possible that link unit ads would pay more.

 

I think you are best of just testing it, . But I think you will find the influence insignificant. Make sure you post your results.
