Link unit earnings

Possibly a little premature, but I went and put a link unit in a few places in one of my sites tonight. No clicks yet of course and only 500 or so impressions, but wondering if link units earn without clicks, like the ads do?

I've been running adsense a few years and never used a link unit before :)

No, the text link will not give you single penny for the impression
Also, visitor click only on the text link will never give you money, you can only earn once the visitor click on the text link and again click on the ads on the text link page

It's not true, i was wondering that it works like lifeplayer explained. But i put text links between the website meniu, when people click on them i get earnings but they are low. The best way is to put text adds

I put these at the bottom of any of my content that is paginated, just above the pagination navigation links. I've got 20c overnight so I can't really complain lol

I'm doing a minor ad overhaul on one of my sites, thought I'd do something a bit different for a change. I also removed an ad block with an overlapping channel, and while the impressions on that one is hugely down the ctr is over 1, which is the highest I've ever seen on that site, so obviously noone was clicking on the ad I removed.

This site earns over $200 a month but has a dismal CTR so I thought trying something different might lift the earnings a bit without having to increase traffic.

Link units are an incredible add-on to your revenue, sometimes even 30% to 40% of my revenue comes from them and believe me I got the text ads right and have a good CTR.

I only use horizontal ones with 4 options. Sometimes people click more or less ads, and sometimes you get credited more or less... But it's a big mistake not to use them trust me.

Yeah, I'm using the horizontal ones with 4 as well.

I don't think the adsense bot has got the right idea yet though, I have a baby names page with a link unit with just drupal drupal drupal on it. Might need to put those ignore tags around my 'powered by drupal' link in really small font in my sig
