I think it may depend on the article site itself. If it is one of the big ones and they use statis URLs then it will probably be permanent. Im just starting a new article site myself and the actual article pages themselves where you read the articles have decent URLs e.g. www.articles.freestockimages.net/article1.html I think that a link on a page like this in a well indexed site would be permanent.
