The penalties that internet marketers are shoving in your face are often exaggerated. Unless you're driving tens of thousands of backlinks to a site, you have nothing to worry about in terms of penalties. Any sort of a drop would just be a Google dance
I think its matter of time now.As long as Google thinks the search results are fine considering link submission, its OK. Google stopped working on Google directory and page says "Web search is better".Now they came up with Panda for better results....so... wait and see..
I mean directory submissions. Initially I got gud response but now the traffic has fallen tremendously.
It is very important but make sure you add good backlinks. Its no use adding thousands of useless links, just a waste of time.
