I delete spam links. Spam links deter genuine users while encouraging others spammers, besides that just add clutter, so I'd advise you to delete them.

What you can do is edit out the link in the spam and change their comment to something good for your conversation, then save the comment as approved. This will make visitors want to post other comments on your site.

Spam links tend to devalue your sites when other visitors come to see it. I only leave those comments that are genuine and related to the topic.

For me it depends upon the link you received it is because link is directed and sometimes it filleds with virus...so before you delete the link..just check first if their is a problem.

Delete them, for no other reason than to reduce the size of your WP database.

Delete the spam links. You should discourage spamming.

If those spam links do have a value add to my site, I will consider approve it. e.g. thank you message. A new post is 0 comment is not impress to public user.

It amazes me how many of these I get on my WP sites. Surely no-one approves them? I guess it's a number game for the spammers otherwise they wouldn't do it.

I delete it because it's always irrelevant to my topic of the post. I don't see how it could help my SEO.
