Should this be in the link selling dept.? I am not selling links here, just asking.

I sell some PR4, PR5 and PR6 links, but it seems like people that by PR5 links or less here at DP dont buy for more than 3 months at a time. The ones that buy PR6 or above buy for a year.
Did I get the right impression here? That the people who have money to pay for a PR6 link appreciate long term linking and the people who cannot afford PR6 or above do not appreciate long term linking ?

I think at times it's not a matter of appreciation, but rather of affordability. In many (but not all) cases lower PR sites are owned by poorer (newer??) webmasters that don't have the buying power of their older counterparts.

I have a forum, and I'm currently not buying (or selling) links from, though, if I were, and basing things on my stats, I simply don't have enough funds to buy a PR6 link for a year. I maybe could afford a PR4 link or two for a few month, in hopes that maybe by the times the next PR update comes I'll have that much more recognition, and maybe a PR4 myself.

If I compare my site to a few other related sites that have been here a few years longer, then I know I'd have not only more staying power, but also more buying power, as word of their sites has had more time to spread.

I think I'm losing myself.... I hope you could at least get something from my rambling.

I do get something from it. It seems like that there is not a big marked for link selling between $9 for three months and $90 for a year if you see what I mean.

i believe the ones who buy low pr links are the ones in not-so-solid kind of business. well, they may have a site which they would develop and sell... or maybe its something momentary... in general the ones who buy low pr link maybe be buying it for something which they are not going to own for long time or which is not so much established.

on other hand, the ones who buy high pr links... do so for their established sites about which they are sure that the'd be owning and running it even after a year.

    just my opinion though! :)

Thank you, thats a very good point.

It looks like also the people who buy the high PR links thinks that it is no use to buy a link for just one month, that it is a waste of money.

Yeah correct.. and just as i said... they are (in most cases) very well established. They know they have reached to a threshold from where the only way is ahead!! :)

So what's the going rate for a PR4 link?

Is it the PR alone which the link buyers are interested in or is potential traffic from the linking site also factored into the cost of the link?
