Link sales - itrader and rep for free links

    Hi,
I have been selling some links on dp with some success. Ive also been an avid reader of threads for some time.
I have a pr7 domain and am putting a directory script on it within the next week. My priority is to populate the directory before charging for submissions in the future and before the category pages update to pr5+6
Is it viable for me to populate the directory by making a thread in dp link sales and give links on the new directory in exchange for rep / itrader.
I am planning on selling around 200 pr7 links on 50 different pages and sites shortly but would like my history on dp to be more established first.
    Answers will be much appreciated!

It's viable to offer that opportunity - I'm not sure if DP admin will approve of reputation in return, but I see no reason why you couldn't ask for iTrader as long as the other party was happy with the speediness and simplicity of inclusion.

It is not allowed to trade things for Reputation. Check this thread.
The best idea is to make the Reputation optional. Just say that you would really appreciate a green reputation. I am sure that everyone will be glad to give you one.

If you are going to accept free submissions for your directory, then Solicitations and Announcements is the right category. You cannot get an iTrader in that category but you can get reps.

Then I'm afraid that will be a clear abuse of iTrader.

In that case its better to ask a moderator, before you continue.

A directory submission and acceptance of the submission is a transaction and in my eyes an itrader is valid.
How can I contact a mod?

You do something for them bur unless there is a reciprocal link or something in exchange it is iTrader abuse. I have gotten a thread closed because of the same thing you were going to do almost.

You can either use the send message feature or wait until a mod / admin visits this thread and answers.

Seems like it should be allowed to me. (Not the rep part, but the iTrader anyway) I was planning on doing the same time of thing. I was planning on offering to do forum posts for free. The only "payment" I would ask would be that they leave iTrade feedback (positive or negative, whatever they felt that I deserved). I asked in another thread if this was allowed and have not yet received an answer either. Seems to me like we could use some clarification on this point.

I'll see if I can contact a mod or admin and point them to this thread. Maybe they will be able to clear things up for us. :)

This has been discussed several times here. The answer is always no. The mods and admin said no. It is called iTrader abuse.
