link sabotage, what can I do?

    Hello,

It seems someone is attacking my site by submitting it to tons of worthless link pages. I know I did not submit anything in months, but today in my email I had tons of emails about my link submissions! And many in random categories.
I have suspected something going on lately as for no reason I can explain my results on Google dropped far back from what they were, I suspect more is going on than I even know right now.
Anyone have good advise as to what to do with this? I can go back and contact the sites in the emails, but I also know that many do not even send an email.

    Any help is appreciated.

if it helps any, google prob isn't counting those link pages anyways.
Sometimes form submissions will give the IP address of the person filling out the form....though doubt you'll even get that.....might even be a mistake by someone (someone outsources link building to someone in another country....there's problem in communication....the wrong url is used, mistake is found later...corrected....and someone somewhere is happy getting those link from link pages....that prob aren't counting).

I wouldn't worry too much, they'd have to get your link on hundreds of thousands of pages to do you any damage. If you have a small number of links, you may have to work a it harder to build your link profile back up again, but it shouldn't be a long term thing.

the links he's complaining about are those that were submitted to directories under some categories that are in no way related to his site...

Thank you all for the replies, I hope they don't cause too much of a problem for the site. And I really hope it was just a mistake, but it looks very odd so I tend to think it was not, like the fact they used my sites public relations email address and the different cat's...
Oh well, I am upset but I guess at this point there is little I can do.
