Link Sabotage is very possible!!!!!!!

Ok, they say inbound links don't hurt you..... I am starting to think they do

    Here's whats going on:

    1) My site was ranking 1st page for 6 months until 2 weeks ago. 99% of all backlinks went to my strong homepage.

    2) 2 weeks ago, my rankings dropped down to 100-200 range..... wayy into the abyss.... and I still think changing my homepage around had to do with it

    3) The strange thing is, I am still ranking 1st page for 1 keyword, as well as my business name

Here's what I think is going on:

All of a sudden, I got a ton of backlinks to 2 pages of the site. These 2 pages had my targeted keyword in the Title Tag. Now, these pages are ranking higher than my Homepage, but still on the 15th page..... but have very weak backlinks no anchor text either.....

I really dont want people to land on subpages, I want them to come to my strong homepage that was 1st page for so long & strong

Here's what I think is going on:

Google sees these backlinks to the subpages...... and then sees the title tags..... and instead of giving my homepage ranking for those keywords, it will now give it to the subpages, which rank very crappy

If this is true, which Im starting to guess it is, then its possible to be sabotaged....... as people could put tons of backlinks to those weaker pages........ and then Google will now ignore your homepage..... which is probably strong

Why do I think all this?

    I'll explain:

I am still ranking 1st page for a MAJOR keyword...... however none of my subpages have that word on them.....

However, I LOST rankings for the other major keywords, that were mentioned on the Title Tags of the subpages.... which are now ranking higher than my homepage which is lost way deep in the ocean!!!

    Note:

That is not link sabotage but it is just a matter of webmaster are taking care of their sites by removing some outbound links.

I doubt this is someone trying to sabotage your website. It is probably just fluctuation in the Google rankings, or maybe some of your back links were removed.

Every single page of your domain has a separate PR. It is up to you how you optimize each of your pages.

Yep, you can get high PR on different webpages. This also applies for subdomains.

you can 'suffer' by linking TO bad sites. You can't suffer from an incoming link. Otherwise, as you say, it would be too easy for competitors to knock you over.
